Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Zepe. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Acceptance of these terms

Welcome to Zepe. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the website at zepe.online and any related pages, features and services, operated by Zepe. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. Definitions

  • “Content” means all text, guides, instructions, commands, images, diagrams, artwork, metadata and other materials available on the Site.
  • “Guide” means an individual instructional article published on the Site.
  • “You” or “User” means any person who accesses or uses the Site.
  • “Third-Party Services” means services operated by others, including advertising, analytics and linked websites.

3. Eligibility

The Site is intended for a general audience. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, generally under 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Site you represent that you can form a binding contract and are not barred from doing so under applicable law.

4. The nature of our content

4.1 Zepe publishes instructional guides about Microsoft Windows. Our guides describe settings, commands and procedures, and explain the mechanism behind them. They are written for general informational and educational purposes.

4.2 The instructions involve changing your computer. Following a guide may involve changing system settings, editing the registry, running commands with administrator rights, modifying disk partitions, altering firewall or security configuration, or deleting files. These actions carry real risk, including data loss, loss of access to an account, or a system that will not start. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to carry out any procedure described here, and for backing up your data first.

4.3 Windows changes. Microsoft revises Windows continually. A menu path, command or behaviour that was accurate when a guide was written may change without notice. We revise guides when we become aware that something has changed, and each guide carries the date it was last updated, but we do not warrant that any guide reflects the current behaviour of your particular build, edition or configuration.

4.4 Nothing on the Site is professional advice. See section 11 and our Disclaimer.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 All original material on the Site, including the text of our guides, our explanations, our diagrams and generated artwork, our site design, branding, logo and curation, is owned by Zepe or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Zepe name and logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.

5.2 We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to access the Site and to use our guides for your own purposes, including carrying out the procedures they describe on computers you are authorised to administer.

5.3 You may quote short extracts from our guides with attribution and a link to the original page. You may not republish a guide in whole or in substantial part, whether in its original form or lightly reworded, and you may not use our Content to train a model or to populate another site without our written permission.

5.4 Names of Microsoft products, including Windows, and the names of any third-party software referred to in our guides, are the trademarks of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation.

6. User responsibilities and acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site in violation of any applicable law;
  • apply any procedure described on the Site to a computer, account or network you are not authorised to administer;
  • use automated tools, bots, scrapers or crawlers to systematically download or copy the Site, or to overload our infrastructure;
  • interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its servers;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or proprietary notice on material we provide;
  • republish our Content in breach of section 5; or
  • use the Site to distribute malware or to engage in fraudulent, harmful or deceptive activity.

7. Corrections and submissions

If you send us a correction, a suggested guide, a comment or other material, you represent that you have the right to send it, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, display and adapt it on the Site. We may review, decline, edit or remove submissions at our discretion, and we are not obliged to credit or respond to any submission, though we read every message we receive.

The Site links to Third-Party Services and external sources, principally Microsoft’s own documentation and support pages, which we cite as sources for the claims we make. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of any third-party site. Links do not imply endorsement, and your use of third-party sites is governed by their terms. Our editorial standards explain how we choose and cite sources.

9. Advertising and Google AdSense

9.1 The Site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense, which is what allows every guide to be free to read. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the internet.

9.2 You may opt out of personalised advertising at myadcenter.google.com, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising via optout.aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before advertising and other non-essential cookies are set, using Google’s consent management platform, which is certified under the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework v2.2. You can change your choice at any time from the Privacy & cookie settings link in the footer.

9.3 We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or for the products or services they promote. Advertising is kept visually distinct from our editorial content, and no advertiser has any influence over what our guides say.

See our Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZEPE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zepe and its owners and operators from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any law or third-party right, including applying any procedure described here to a system you were not authorised to administer.

14. Copyright complaints and DMCA

14.3 Upon receiving a valid notice we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material, and will make a good-faith effort to notify whoever provided it, who may submit a counter-notice. The full procedure, including counter-notification requirements, is set out on our DMCA and Copyright Policy page.

14.4 We will, in appropriate circumstances, remove content and restrict users who are repeat infringers.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

15.2 You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, except where prohibited by applicable law.

16. International users

The Site is controlled and operated from the United States. We make no representation that the Site or its Content is appropriate or lawful in other locations. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the date shown above, and material changes may be highlighted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law, will survive termination.
